A2 Coursework: My Completed Digipak: Detailed Reflection.

I have finished my digipak and have compete all the the designs and conventions that I wanted to include to create a successful digipak.I first took photos of my artist in which I made him pose in various positions and have different facial expressions. I did this so that I would have a range of styles and poses that I could choose from and also that I had four different images from the four panels of my digipak

I wanted to use the idea that I used for my draft (see post below) for my for my official digipak cover and used the same techniques that I used for my draft.
First Initial Idea
Draft/Plan

New Background for Digipak
However I didn't like the way it came out and decided to change my idea. I wanted the album cover to be a reflection of my artist so I used the brand identity brainstorm to help me find what design would go best for my artist. From the brainstorm I was able to see that the common conception of my artist was that he seemed the happy go lucky type that have strong beliefs in fate and love. From there I came up with the "universe holds out fate" idea and then chose the image of the universe as my background for my digipak:

Front Cover

I was then able to choose from one of the many photos that I had taken to creat the front cover of my digipak. I used the gradient overlay effect and lowered the opacity to add subtle changed to the original image that I had taken and to add a glow to the image so it would stand out:

I also used the spot healing tool to get rid of any blemishes on the image to give it a more flawless and professional look

I then added more effects to my original image taken and blue outer glow that matched the universe background:

After using all theses effects I had successfully created the front cover of my digipak:

Front Cover

Back Cover

I then created the back cover I used similar stylings such as the universe theme as it was a universe background as I made this the key theme for my digi pack.

I then added the playlist of the the songs that will be on the album and made it so that the song titles could be all the colours of the rainbow. This is a similar style to the album tile and artist name that is on the front cover I have done this because I felt that the colours were a representation of all the emotions that are experienced in love e.g. Red for passion, Blue for sadness ,Yellow for happiness, Green Jealously  ect.

I then add the essential features that need to be on the back cover such as the bar code and record label this made the album more authentic and ready to purchase when in store .

Finally I added an image of the artist on to the back cover. I cut him out of the original picture that I had taken using the magic wand tool.

I then placed it over the universe background. I used an image of him performing with his guitar  as it reflected my artist's true passion for music.

CD Inlay

The CD inlay was very straight forward. I used the same universe background. However I made it so that the background was cover with the rainbow overlay. I used the gradient overlay effect to do this. I then changed the opacity of the gradiat overlay so that the universe background was still visible.

Lyric Booklet

Finally I created the lyric booklet. I used the same universe/rainbow background again and then place another different image of my artist onto the back ground. And then added an outer glow effect to make him stand out. I used the same font that I used for the album title and artist's name on font cover.

Font

I first had to find the font that would fit the styling of my digi pak. I went on to dafont.com and look through many types of fonts.

I choose the "True Lies" font as I felt that it looked best with the rest of the stylings of my digipak. I felt that it had an edgy look that went with part of my artist's style.

Net
I then put all the covers together to create the net in which the digi pak will be made from.
